We Hate Fun! (Okay, Not ALL Fun): The Mom Hour, Episode 10

Confession: We don’t LOVE playing make-believe with our kids. Or pushing them on the swings. Or reading Dr. Seuss. But guess what? We’re kind of OK with that.

In Episode 10, Meagan and Sarah confess the things they sort of hate doing with their kids – and also share some of the things they love doing. Turns out, we don’t have to love it all – because there’s plenty to enjoy about spending time with your kids (even if you avoid Chutes & Ladders like the plague).

  1. Loved this podcast and how honest you both were. I hate any kind of craft activity and love reading or playing card or board games with my kids. Quick question…we love audiobooks but we are stuck in a rut with Nate the Great and Magic Tree House. Any good suggestions for audiobooks? I have a 5.5 yr old and 3 yr old. Thanks!

    • Hi Kim! Our online library (through the Overdrive app) just recently got all the Beverly Cleary books in audio format. Stockard Channing reads the Ramonas and they are great for that age. The Roald Dahl books are also favorites – and there are some shorter ones (Fantastic Mr. Fox) that might work for that age (if not now, soon!). My kids also liked Mr. Popper’s Penguins in audio format, and Charlotte’s Web is great too (read by the author = awesome). So glad you enjoyed the episode! 🙂

  2. So glad I’m not the only one who hates reading Dr. Seuss out loud.
You are both so honest. It’s really refreshing.
