Life, Listened, a podcast production company and creators of the popular podcast The Mom Hour, is creating a new podcast focused on the journey to motherhood – and we may want to feature YOUR story.
We are seeking a diverse cast in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, with a EDD no earlier than April 1, 2019. Our project will share stories from diverse backgrounds, locations, lifestyles, and socioeconomic statuses, both first-time and veteran parents. Chosen participants will receive a stipend to compensate them for sharing their stories. Women of color especially encouraged to apply.
Please apply via this form. If you have trouble with the form, email firstname.lastname@example.org with Pregnancy Podcast in the subject line. Thank you and we can’t wait to hear from you!
Before You Apply
We are so excited to learn more about you. Before you start, here are a few things you should know:
- We will provide the necessary audio recording equipment (microphone and headphones) as well as technical coaching on how to get great sound in a home studio. You will need to provide a laptop or desktop computer (no tablets or mobile devices) and be willing to download free software in order to capture your recordings. You will also need a good WiFi connection for recorded interviews.
- This project will require you to create a 10-20 minute recording weekly(on your own schedule) documenting your pregnancy journey, as well as participate in bimonthly hour-long interviews throughout your pregnancy. We will also ask you to check in during your first two months postpartum with an interview and 2-3 solo recordings.
- You will be required to participate in a setup call with our audio engineer at the beginning of the project, and to troubleshoot with our team as needed to fix sound quality issues as they come up.
- We estimate the time commitment to be between 30 and 35 hours.
Applicants selected to be part of the final production will receive a stipend and a reasonable amount of promotion of their personal projects (blog, podcast etc) on the podcast.
If this all sounds good, please submit your application and sample recording no later than midnight EST on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
